What is egg donation?

The specifics of the procedure

Before becoming an egg donor, women should have a consultation. During it the doctor will answer all important questions. The procedure for collecting oocytes consists of the following steps:

1. Initial consultation and examination. This stage includes a standard gynecological examination, anamnesis, ultrasound and a collection of tests for laboratory diagnosis. This will help to assess the condition of the body before the donation of the egg.
2. Preparatory. Future donors` ovaries are medically stimulated. This leads to an increase in the number of actively growing follicles. Accordingly, the number of oocytes increases. The procedure involves regular ultrasound monitoring, so an ultrasound examination is necessary to come to the clinic every 3-5 days.
3. Egg collection. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and will not cause discomfort. The puncture  is controlled by ultrasound, which ensures maximum accuracy of manipulation.

It will take about 2-3 weeks, in order to hand over an egg,. This time is enough for examination and stimulation of the ovaries. Oocyte collection itself lasts about 10 minutes.

Requirements for donors

The program is open to female representatives who meet the following parameters:

• age from 20 to 32 years;
• lack of phenotypic features in the appearance of a candidate donor;
• having your own child without genetic abnormalities;
• physical and psychosomatic health is normal;
• lack of hereditary pathologies and malformations.
