Laparoscopy of the fallopian tubes
Laparoscopy is a type of endoscopic surgery, at which surgical intervention is performed through small holes in abdominal wall sizes of from 0.5 to 1.5 cm.
Modern laparoscopy can be used both for diagnostic purposes, and for surgical interventions.
This surgical intervention is performed under general anesthesia, so before the operation examination and consultation of the anesthesiologist and the therapist is required.
During the surgical intervention carbon dioxide is injected through a special needle inserted near the navel into the abdominal cavity, that significantly improves visibility and access to the internal organs. Using the instruments of very small diameter and supersensitive optical system surgical intervention is performed directly in the abdominal cavity. No contact with air reduces to a minimum the chances of developing adhesions, microscopic incisions on the abdominal wall do not lead to aesthetic defects. If necessary, examination of tubal patency is performed through the vagina and cervix, catheter with contrast agent is introduced into the uterus, that allows checking tubal patency. Laparoscopy not only allows making the diagnosis, but also, if necessary, eliminating the revealed pathology! For example, perform vaporization of endometriosis, excise adhesions, remove the deformed fallopian tube and more.
